Over 30 members of staff from across Peter Duffy Limited and DrainsAid are taking on the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in support of Michael Duffy and Chris O’Hora who are raising money in aid of the charity, Mellon Educate.
On the 18th June, 2016, they will set off from Horton-in-Ribblesdale to complete the 25 mile hike, taking on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in under 12 hours, and in doing so raising money towards their target of £10,000.
Mellon Educate is an international volunteer-based charity which has embarked on a 10-year initiative to provide educational assistance for more than 100,000 of Africa’s most impoverished children. They need volunteers and financial support from people and organisations to achieve this ambitious target. Each year they hold a Building Blitz week when international volunteers join together with the charity in Africa and help, ‘hands on’ in a building project.
Michael Duffy and Chris O’Hora have volunteered to participate in the 2016 Building Blitz in November and have set themselves a target of £10,000 to help build schools for disadvantaged children in Africa. They will be attempting to reach this target through various events over the coming months, starting with the Three Peaks event.
They will be sharing our fundraising page over the coming months, so any help you can give, large or small would be hugely appreciated.
Commenting on the event, Michael Duffy Added, “I have two objectives. My first priority is to raise over £10,000 for Mellon Educate, a charity which I have great respect and admiration for. The second is to make sure I beat Chris, because I will never live it down”
