In a time of political uncertainty, councils around the country are waiting to see the full fallout from the shock general election result. With so many traumatic events hitting the UK in recent months and with a now coalition government trying to work together, it’s understandable that politic agenda may be elsewhere.
But, we cannot put the threat of drought and flooding on the backburner warns ADA – the membership organisation for drainage, water level and flood risk management.
Following on from the terrible floods that hit the country in 2015, which our drainage experts know so well after battling the water over the Christmas period, ADA is calling for flood risk management alongside drainage and water levels to be properly addressed in the new parliament.
Before the election, ADA put forward a suggested plan for the future, which was distributed to all political parties ahead of the election. This would not only re-energise the UK’s focus on water management but it also allows drainage companies like DrainsAid to have an opportunity to get more work done around the country and stimulate the economy.
At DrainsAid we believe that such manifestos are key into the development and protection of UK citizens and their homes against floods – which as we have all seen can be devastating.
As we wait to see how the new government react to flooding issues in the near future, DrainsAid are always on hand to help any home or business in the Yorkshire of North England region.
Our drainage services include everything from drain and sewer investigations; drain repairs, blockage clearance, relining and manhole rehabilitation. Should you need our drainage assistance, please feel free to call our Wakefield office on 0800 0180 123.
