graduate

This week we welcomed 2 graduate civil engineers to the DrainsAid team.  David Lawton and Gregory Thomson both have Civil Engineering honours degrees, and will be gaining the knowledge and experience needed to become professional members of the Institute of Civil Engineers.

David and Greg will be following personal development plans that will see them spend time getting to grips with all of the different disciplines within DrainsAid, as well as spending time with the Peter Duffy Limited civil engineering teams.  We will be spending time over the next 6 months to develop them into valuable team members.  This will include gaining their Streetworks Qualifications and completing the CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme.

“My first impression after the first week is great.” said Gregory, “The team are all really hardworking and enjoy helping you out when you have questions. They go above and beyond so that you have a great understanding on different tasks. The company itself is  really keen on training their staff up to a very high standard and I think this is great. I have been out to 2 sites this week as well as spending time in the yard and this has helped me understand various processes.”

David said “On site all operatives have been generous with their time, explaining the works that are being carried out and the processes they are working through as they work. Starting work alongside another graduate, Gregory, has been ideal as we are able to discuss and share our experiences which only furthers our development.  I feel very excited to continue working for the company and am looking forward to the future.”

We are looking forward to seeing David and Gregory develop and begin contributing to the success of the business.
